We read every one of these personally, so it will be a person who comes back to you, not an autoresponder. If the next evening has room and you look like a fit, that is what we will write about.

What you are applying to

One private evening a month in Houston, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Central, capped at forty people. No keynote, no panel, no sponsor carousel. One member takes the microphone for roughly twelve minutes to talk about what they are actually building, and the rest of the night is the room.

The cap is the product. Forty is roughly the largest group in which one person can meet most of the others in an evening and be remembered afterwards. It also means the answer to a good application is sometimes not this month.

Why we ask what we ask

Five short questions, and only the first four are required. We are not scoring you. We are trying to work out whether the next evening contains people you would actually want to meet, which is a seating problem rather than a screening one.

Accredited standing is self-reported. We do not ask anyone for documents, which also means nobody should treat membership here as verification of anybody else. If you are raising and need verified status, see 506(b) versus 506(c).

Not in Houston?

Say so on the city page instead and we will let you know if a room opens near you. Travelling in for one evening is usually not worth it, since the value is in the repetition.

Is the first event really free?

Yes. The first event is free. Continuing to attend after that requires a membership.

How long does the application take?

Under two minutes. Five steps, four required fields, and no document uploads.

Do you verify that applicants are accredited?

No. Accredited standing is self-reported and applications are reviewed for fit with the room. Nobody should rely on ACCAP membership as evidence of another member accredited status.

What happens after I apply?

A person reads it. If the next evening has room and you look like a fit, we come back to you about that specific date. The room is capped at forty, so sometimes the answer is not this month.

Am I applying to an event or to the membership?

To the room. If it is a fit we will point you at the next evening, and the first one is free.

What if I am not sure I qualify?

Apply anyway and say so. "Not sure" is one of the answers on the accreditation question, and it is not a test you can fail.
